Internships

FirstCare provides opportunities for student internships for occupational, speech, and physical therapy students in a variety of settings, including: outpatient orthopedic, acute inpatient, inpatient rehab, and pediatric outpatient.  

 

 

 

 

I have been in the healthcare field
 for over 10 years working in a
 variety of jobs from hospital 
 transporter to physical therapy
 aide to currently being a physical 
 therapist, which I have done
 now for over two years  with
 FirstCare.  Working as a physical 
 therapist has allowed me to do
 some of the most rewarding work
 there is, the work of helping others. 
 Some of my favorite experiences
 over the past two years have been 
 helping patients that have suffered 
 a stroke return to walking and
 performing their daily activities
 they did prior to their stroke. I
 also have truly enjoyed educating
 families on what exactly a patients 
 condition is and how they can
 further help the rehab process at
 home in a safe and productive
 fashion to best meet the patients
 needs and goals.
